About the Author

A little about me

Michael Lane is the adopted son of an engineer and an artist. He is indebted to them for nurturing his mind to balance both logic and creativity.

The first piece of writing Mr. Lane sold was to a radio station when he was in high school. He earned ten dollars for the story but managed to miss the broadcast when it was read on the air.

It was also in high school that Mr. Lane first learned to wield a sword in the Society for the Creative Anachronisms. Fighting in armor is something he enjoys but seldom finds time to do anymore.

In college, Mr. Lane nearly failed out of school, discovered punk music, learned to do the Time Warp in heels, had a stint as a newspaper cartoonist, and found a passion for architecture. It was in this field that he received his master’s degree.

After college, Mr. Lane moved to San Antonio where he spent ten years working in an architect’s office. In 1999, he began teaching at several San Antonio colleges and universities.

Currently, Mr. Lane is married to an artist that he loves dearly and as of May 11th, 2024, will be retired and devoting all his time to writing
